January 2023 menopause knocked on my door in a rather alarming way. I found myself needing to anchor this new phase in my life with some kind of ritual so I looked to find elder woman willing to guide me. To my disappointment this was harder than I thought so I ended up creating my own menopause ceremony to celebrate with friends and family my ‘out with the old and in with my new self’.
At the time little did I know that I would end up creating a whole new body of work. As I dived head, heart and body into all menopause I realised something amazing about myself that I never took much into serious consideration before: I have been working on existential questions, liminal spaces, long transitions, identity crises and reality checks pretty much as long as I can remember. What I thought was struggle and intense times was now instructing me in wise ways. It was revolutionary. Literally swimming in it all my life this was my real work. Pretty turned on by the idea, I was delighted to go along with it and use it as material to create.
The Menopause Codex was officially born a year later so as to help women navigate their biggest transformation. It already went through the fire of testing with a powerful group of amazing women. The Codes are alive and archetypal in nature, each one distinct with a unique atmosphere and energy signature. The Codex is a blend of adventure, challenge and experience. It is deep, complete, fresh and cathartic.
